Job Description:

 

Major Ag Employer seeking a Technical Services Specialist to provide proactive poultry and swine nutritional solution and support services to it s growing customer base, and additionally develop and maintain current business. Responsibilities include providing technical support for poultry and swine integrators and feed manufacturers. Develop and maintain relationships with customers and prospects, participate in setting objects and executing plans for sales and marketing, define and implement sales strategies, manage product evaluations, maintain key business / technical information for customers, understand threats, market intelligence and pricing, participate in development, give feedback, and provide support for product registration. Will primarily service the US marketplace with occasional international travel. Need to understand all aspects of poultry and swine production with special expertise in phytase and NSPase additives research design principles, how to apply research production settings, basic marketing and selling techniques, statistical analysis concepts, and basic business principles, ability to understand customer needs, self-motivated, and have excellent selling and negotiation skills.

Job Description:

In this role, the successful candidate will support sales through professional level technical support to swine veterinarians, producers and distributors and will establish professional relationships with key opinion leaders in industry, government and academic circles.

The incumbent will design, monitor and report on field trials and collaborate with academic or research trial cooperators and will provide technical input for the development of training, marketing and sales materials.

The veterinarian will provide technical support for sales representatives, marketing personnel and fellow technical team members and will investigate and report on disease breaks and product complaints through problem resolution strategies which might include farm visits and diagnostic investigations.

The incumbent will prepare and submit abstracts of field trials for oral or poster presentation at industry meetings.

 

Qualifications include a veterinary degree with minimum of 3 years veterinary practice, industry or production system experience. Swine experience is required.  This position will be home/field based in the Midwest or Canada. Travel within both countries will be required. Travel is expected to be 75% overnight. Full time or consultant candidates will be considered.
